How often have we looked at someone and thought, ‘My God, she’s so lucky she has it all’ or ‘What a lucky …’! We tend to give credit only to the luck part and want to believe that we are not where someone else is, because we are not as lucky. Or else, there are those who imagine that all they need is luck and they will make it! But is luck the only thing between people and success?
Luck, no doubt, plays an important part in life. But that is never, and can never be enough. Because luck might lead you to an opportunity, but only your talent and your preparedness can help you convert it. What use will be luck, if you are not ready to make use of whatever possibilities you stumble upon?
For sure, nothing is truer than the maxim Fortune favours the brave. It encapsulates the fundamental truth that people who act decisively make their own fate. If you are prepared to put yourself out there, if you are primed to recognise opportunities and if you have prepped enough to make sure you can face anything that comes your way, you will find that nothing can come between you and success. In fact you can also create your own luck with the right effort.
Be Optimistic
A lot of people who believe they are lucky, have actually worked hard at creating their luck. They don’t sit around waiting for things to fall in their lap. They are optimistic and keep working with the belief that things are going to go their way. And with that level of preparedness, more often than not, things do.
Put yourself out there
Keep challenging yourself. Make sure you get out of your comfort zone every once in awhile and shake things up. Go meet new people, get new experiences. This will not only broaden your horizons and give you new vision and perspective, it will also generate newer opportunities for you.
Hunt your luck down
Luck isn’t something that will always happen to you. You can find it by training yourself. It is usually a matter of being able to spot an opportunity where others can’t. So hone your skills and you will suddenly find yourself getting more lucky.
Take risks.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Maybe you convert a shot that can only be called lucky, but would you have converted it if you had not tried? Taking risks is essential. Only if you take a chance, will you be able to make things happen. Otherwise, you will miss out on whatever luck was coming your way.
