Delegation is an art and only a few entrepreneurs are able to master it.
That said, there are several hacks and tips that help you master this very daunting yet important task. Here are three tips to get you started:
- Start Small: Before you move onto the act of delegating some ground work from your side will prepare you better and give you the confidence to move to bigger delegating tasks. Start by doing the following:
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your team
- Identify the areas of work that are off-schedule
- Identify the large tasks and break them down to smaller tasks
- Identify the simple tasks that can be handed over to a newbie/assistant.

They need to identify the strengths and weaknesses well enough to add some focus and value to their delegation. They must be able to leverage unique strengths of their team members to produce greater results than they can achieve on their own.
- Get Ready for Repetition: In order to create and benefit from a uniform delegation strategy, you’ll have to work with repetitive processes that stem from key goals and priorities. Once you have the system running, you don’t need to worry much. If your strategy is foolproof, you don’t need to go back and forth. To make it foolproof you’ll have to invest some of your time in the beginning. Of course there’s an ongoing commitment required of you, but you don’t need to overlook many boring tasks once the system’s in place.
